FreedomPop Mobile Phone Service Helps You Keep in Touch… For Free!

Seniors are very tech savvy these days – and that includes embracing mobile phones! A mobile phone is a fantastic investment for any older adult. It also serves as a great way to keep in touch with family and friends, and for sharing life on social media.

A phone provides extra security and a peace of mind for seniors and their loved ones.

Many older adults need to be mindful of their budgets though. With some smartphones costing hundreds of dollars upfront, plus the additional cost of a monthly service plan, it’s no wonder it can be difficult to budget for a mobile phone.

Even for people who can afford a mobile phone, no one wants to pay more than they have to, who doesn’t enjoy saving money?

We recently learned about FreedomPop and the great deal they offer to users. FreedomPop provides a budget-friendly mobile phone service plan that makes mobile phone service accessible to all, especially older adults. They offer a unique 100% FREE Mobile Phone Service (yes, it truly is free) that comes with an affordable LTE smartphone.

FreedomPop Lets You Keep in Touch... For Free!

Premium service plan options are also available for users who use more talk, text, and data than the free plan. FreedomPop believes that basic mobile phone coverage should be a right, and they have been helping millions of users obtain this right while helping them save hundreds of dollars on their phone bills every month.

Every year, millions of users benefit from their service, from techies and students to parents and kids, and of course, seniors!

How Can FreedomPop Be Free?

The answer is simple: VoiP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol (the same technology used to make calls with Skype.) FreedomPop uses an Internet data connection to provide its service. The service piggybacks on the communications networks of bigger companies to provide Internet phone services. This helps keep prices way, way down.

Do I Have To Pay Anything?

You only have to pay for your LTE smartphone, which is incredibly affordable. The basic package: 100% Free Mobile Phone Service is free. You will simply need to pay for top-ups if you reach your data limit. The top-up fee is $15. For minutes and texts, you can upgrade your plan if you reach your limit.

The 100% Free Basic Plan includes 200 minutes, 500 texts, and 500MB of 4G LTE data.

For seniors who need a little extra data, FreedomPop offers a range of plans starting as low as $3.99 a month and ranging up to $74.99 a month.

FreedomPop: A Low Cost Mobile Phone Service For Seniors

FreedomPop recently announced they’re extending their packages to include a special mobile phone service designed just for seniors aged 55+. Their senior offer costs just $24.99 a month which includes unlimited talk, text and 2GB of data.

Is FreedomPop A Good Deal for Cell Service?

We love what FreedomPop is doing with communications right now. When they say “free”, they really do mean free – no gimmicks. We think that the 55+ plan that comes with an unlimited talk, text, and 2GB data trial (a $24.99/mo value) is a steal.

After the trial period is over for users who don’t want to pay can easily downgrade anytime to their 100% Free Basic Plan, which comes with 200 mins, 500 texts, & 500MB 4G LTE every month.

For seniors, who are looking for an affordable way to keep in touch with friends and family, we think FreedomPop is absolutely worth checking out!

  1. I ordered two lines before discovering that it would be $20 per line to use my own phones AND that if I “brought my own phone number” where would be an additional charge of $9.99. So you don’t find out about the $20 per line to use your own phone until after you have either signed up for a new number at the SIM card page (which I did for both) or paid to bring your own phone number. I just tried that again to make sure my recollection was correct and it appears to be so.

Since I had already purchased an unlocked Smart Phone and already had another flip phone, I wanted to use those.

Even though I cancelled within minutes, I still had two $20 charges posted because of opening the account and getting two new phone numbers.
I did, however, maintain the “hot spot,” which you must purchase from them, and have that plus my own phone with a different carrier as an emergency back up.

I would like someone to review this and refund the $40 for never using the service.
