Mighty Health was founded in 2018 by James Li and Felipe Lopes. Inspired by Li’s father’s struggles after open heart surgery, the company set out to develop a comprehensive, senior-specific health plan. As of January 2023, Mighty Health has raised over $10 million in four fundraising rounds.
I’m not close to a high-tech gym, so Mighty Health was a good way for me to burn some calories at home. After signing up for the free trial online, I downloaded the Mighty Health app to my phone. Once logged in, I decided on arm and back exercises that would go easy on my lower back.
The exercises I tried ranged from curls to shoulder presses with hand weights and augmented push-ups. I also managed to catch a livestreamed yoga class that helped with some stiffness I had been feeling in my neck!
For dinner, I made one of Mighty Health’s chicken lettuce wraps, which came out quite well. Scrolling through the Community page, I found encouraging posts from fellow customers, including pictures of their progress, cooking, and more. There are only so many workouts, however, so you may run out of Mighty Health videos quickly if you like to exercise every day.
If you have no issues navigating a smartphone app, Mighty Health could be a useful and convenient way to set personal health goals and track your progress over time.
Mighty Health costs $29.99 for a monthly plan, but offers a 50 percent discount if you purchase a year in advance, coming out to $180 instead of $360. That’s much cheaper than many annual gym memberships, especially considering Mighty Health does not limit your weekly activities or charge for extra classes.
You can purchase a plan via credit card on Mighty Health’s website or in the app.
You can sign up for Mighty Health on the company’s website or mobile app. On the website, you’ll be asked to choose a preferred type of exercise: seated, standing, or floor work, as well as the body part you want the least stress on. After a few questions about your exercise habits, you must enter your personal info and credit card information to get started, even if you are only doing the free trial.
Keeping track of your health is essential as you age, but all the information involved can make it overwhelming. Mighty Health not only has a lot of exercises and recipes, but also a community to keep you going.
Being able to talk to an expert and track your progress is encouraging too. Still, consider how often you will use Mighty Health before subscribing for an entire year, since the monthly plan contains all the same content.
