A unique medical alert system that you don’t have to wear, GetSafe offers passive, modern devices that give users freedom from wearing clunky pendants and wristbands.
Owned by Bay Alarm Medical, GetSafe systems are intended for adults who spend their time at home. Alert systems are placed around the home in high-risk areas, with a choice of optional wearables. Along with medical alert buttons that come with or without automatic fall detection, users can try the system risk-free for 30 days.
GetSafe offers medical alert systems for use around the home, with an optional choice of wearables. All systems run on 4G LTE cellular connection and don’t require a landline. Additionally, all of the systems have an in-home base unit with clear two-way communication during emergencies. The one-time equipment cost can range between $79 to $229.
GetSafe offers three plans: the Starter, Standard, and Select. Your living space will determine which one you decide to use.
This basic system is intended for users who want a reliable, but passive monitoring device that can be easily placed around the home. It’s a great starting choice for those who live in a smaller condo or apartment. With an equipment cost of $79 and a $24.95 per month monitoring fee, this system provides everything a user needs to feel more protected in the home.
The starter kit includes a two-way voice button and a 4G LTE in-home system that connects to 24/7 monitoring assistance in the United States. It also includes a voice-activated wall button and a personal help button, with the choice of several add-ons. The two-way voice button can be easily placed in at-risk fall areas like the hallway or bathroom. As an option, this system also comes with a complimentary lanyard button in case the user prefers a wearable. To learn more about this system, check out my review of GetSafe.
This is the second system offered by GetSafe. Personally, I’d go with this plan because it includes everything you need for extensive coverage, up to three bedrooms. For peace of mind, the kit includes two voice-activated buttons, one standard wall button, and a 4G LTE in-home system that connects to 24/7 monitoring in the U.S. It’s intended for the active user who spends a lot of time in at-risk areas such as the kitchen or the bathroom. Similar to the voice-activated wall button that’s offered in the basic GetSafe Starter plan, you’ll get an additional one that you can place in another at-risk area of your home.
This is the most comprehensive and expensive plan offered by GetSafe Select and is intended for customers with larger homes. For extra protection, the kit includes three voice-activated buttons, two standard wall buttons, a complimentary lanyard button, and a 4G LTE in-home system that connects to 24/7 monitoring assistance. Users can apply the standard wall buttons in their bathroom or stairways to get maximum coverage. Even though the equipment cost starts at $229 with a monthly monitoring fee of $24.95, this plan is worth the added coverage and peace of mind.
Regardless of which package you purchase, GetSafe allows you to customize your system with a variety of accessories. Here is an overview of each one.

The box provides a special four-digit code for EMT to gain access to your home and get you the help you need. Price: $30

Is GetSafe Worth It?
With easy installation, waterproof wearables, and customized medical alert system packages, GetSafe is a great choice for those looking for in-home protection. To learn more about medical alert systems, check out my list of 2023‘s best medical alerts.
GetSafe is great for:
Those who don’t want to wear help buttons: Users don’t have to be tied down to traditional wearables, such as those offered by Life Alert. For adults who enjoy the ease of walking around the house without a pendant, GetSafe offers great passive medical alert solutions that work 24/7 to keep them safe in the event of a medical emergency.
People without landlines: GetSafe medical alert systems have included cellular connectivity run by AT&T 4G LTE. With easy setup, consumers don’t have to deal with complicated landline connectivity.
Caregiver tracking: GetSafe offers a chance for caregivers to check for compliance and make sure their clients or loved ones are safe through Caregiver Tracking for Mobile GPS starting at $5 per month, and Caregiver Tracking + Fall Detection for GPS at $10 per month.
GetSafe is not ideal for:
Low start-up costs: Although GetSafe has plenty of add-on choices to choose from, these add-on products can be pricey, especially when consumers already need to pay equipment fees. If you’d like an in-home system without equipment fees, I’d recommend looking into Medical Guardian.
It’s recommended to test your system and all of the GetSafe devices at least once a month. All you have to do is use it as if you would in an actual emergency. Either pull, use the voice-activation command, or help buttons to help trigger the alarms. Once contact is initiated, the monitoring center representatives can be heard over the two-way speaker as they check in on you. You can let them know it was just a test call, and they will help you with any other questions you may have.
Yes, you can add Automatic Fall Detection as an add-on to your plan for an additional $10 per month. The compact and lightweight emergency help button can be worn as a necklace and features automatic fall detection.
GetSafe has a UL-certified monitoring center that offers 24/7 support, seven days a week — including holidays. With GetSafe medical alert systems, you’ll be connected to their 24/7 monitoring center through AT&T’s 4G LTE cellular network.
