2021 List of Restaurant Discounts For Seniors!

Denny’s Senior Discounts

Denny’s: Senior discounts varies by location, 15% off for AARP members. verified

Denny’s Restaurants offer senior discounts at many locations, but like many franchisors, they don’t have a policy across-the-board to govern senior discounts.  Denny’s does offer a 55+ menu with smaller portions, and better prices. (We like this a lot!) If you’re not sure about your local Denny’s Restaurant, call ahead and ask.

About Denny’s

Denny’s has over 1,700 restaurants worldwide, and they continue to grow.  Denny’s has been serving customers for over 60 years and they’re open 24/7, every day of the year. From breakfast (anytime) to lunches and dinners, Denny’s is, if nothing else, consistent.

In 1953, Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened a donut stand in and called it “Danny’s Donuts”.  Their mission was “To serve the best cup of coffee, make the best donuts, give the best service, offer the best value and stay open 24 hours a day.” Today Denny’s is a restaurant chain with a slightly different name, and a reputation for delivering on their mission.

Special Notes:

Introducing Denny’s “No Kid Hungry” program. Denny’s has helped connect hungry children with more than 43 million meals in the last 6 years. Here’s what they say about their “No Kid Hungry” program:

“Every September, Denny’s locations across America participate in Share Our Strength’s Dine Out For No Kid Hungry™, a national fundraising event that brings together thousands of restaurants and millions of consumers to help make sure that no child in America grows up hungry.” – Denny’s Restaurants

  1. ALWAYS happy with the food, ambiance at Denny’s in Jackson,, Michigan. Never a problem with getting 15% discount.
  2. I don’t know how some people just don’t know what they’re talking about i have AARP and have used it many times at different locations and never had any problems
  3. Denny’s signed an agreement with ARRP, and AARP gets paid for promoting Denny’s “discount”. It’s BS. If I have to be a member of an organization to get the discount, then it’s a club thing..not a seniors discount. I don’t eat at places that do This. It’s just another way to get in your wallet.
  4. years dinging at this chain but the pandemic change. terrible service. option for selection not available in person pickup doesn’t honor online offer.
  5. They had senior discount now you have to have a AARP card to get a senior discount not every senior has a AARP card that’s not fair us seniors be nice give us a discount we don’t have a lot of money or we would not ask for the little discount
  6. Why should any meal not be discounted if you have the AARP card? Apparently the Sirloin steak breakfast plate on Saturday isn’t covered and paid full price. How’s that?
  7. I don’t understand why seniors complain about.senior discounts at Denney’s. They have a 55+ menu plus if you have AARP card that’s a bonus. Also believe most Denney’s still have $2, $4, $6, $8 menu which is terrific deal and it’s for all ages.
  8. I went to Denny’s for breakfast. I ordered the $4 Slam. Asked for French toast instead. The bill came and I received no pancakes, but an upcharge for $3.80 for French toast and the miserable manager gave me ony a 10% discount instead of the posted !5%. I went back because I am not paying for pancakes I did not receive nor am I accepting 10% when it is posted at the register 15%.. What could have been a pleasant way to begin my day turned into a very unpleasant one. Why aren’t staff given public relations training and how to treat customers? I had a coupon he would not recognize saying it didn’t apply to Slams. However, the last visit the same coupon was recognized and when I told him that he muttered under his breath. This man is a manager??? Restaurant competition is fierce so it would make sense to treat customers properly.
  9. I went to our local Denny’s with three great grand kids in tow. They had hot chocolate, orange juice and a Shirley Temple, then all three wanted birthday cake pancakes. After placing my boring eggs and toast order, we settled down for a somewhat noisy, but fun breakfast. When I went to pay I pulled out my aarp card and explained that I was paying for the littles, but they didn’t quit qualify for geriatric status. She said whoever was eating with me on the same ticket received the same discount. I love you Dennys!
  10. Me and a Friend had Breakfast at Denny’s in Carson City, Nevada yesterday. We went there because we saw an ad on a website that said they had Senior Discounts of 10-15% ! We ask about the discount before we ordered. The waitress told us that she wasnt sure about the discount and the Manager was out of the Restaurant for about 30 minutes. So We ordered and figured we would get our discount as we are Senior citizens and over 70 yrs old. The bill came to around $20.00. The Manager was back and told us we had to show our AARP Card. We did not have a card but offered to show our Driver’s license. She refused and told us “They” dont make the Rules! We had to pay the full fare. We even showed her from an I-Pad, the ad for Denny’s and there was no mention of the AARP Card. She said, “Sorry” ! We will NEVER eat at Denny’s again!
  11. Some of the comments made me laugh. The best way to see if there’s a senior discount is to ask before u order. Also look at the signs. If they offer one, they’re are ussaully proud they offer it and display it somewhere.
    1. I go to Denny’s often. On my birthday I got a large, 4-item breakfast that I had 10 items to pick from. It was free. I’m @ Denny’s right now in Kelso, WA, & they offer the AARP discount. I like Denny’s.
  12. Blueberry Pancake Puppies. They look graet on menu, yellow and with blueberrys.. i got yesterday, for my birthady so dark, i was thinking at thirst, thgat they nade of chokolate… so dark and chronchy.. i dident`t get seniour discount, no one offered that. i am 64 years old, i think, it is not offer that taht for clients.. Administrator said, that she can`t rebill, really? Coffee was afful, with this high price.. waht kind coffe beans they use, whaht taste so horroble..and so excpansive?
  13. Worst Dennys ever. Waited 15 to have my order taken. Never asked if i needed refill for coffee or water. Lazy wait staff just standing around. Why did i come here.smh
  14. I had a very enjoyable and satisfying breakfast at Denny’s in Jacksonville, North Carolina. I was, however, surprised and displeased to see that Denny’s does not respect senior citizens unless they are members of AARP. I am not with AARP, thus I did not receive a senior discount when I paid for my meal.
    1. I was just given the same push off. I’m not an AARP member, was basically told oh well. I don’t believe in AARP policies. So I won’t be a member. Dennys is basically saying they side with AARP and their policies and thats the ONLY way you will get a discount. Hell with you Dennys, there are other places to eat.
  15. I ordered from the 55 plus menu and the pancakes were very good. I also ordered coffee…. when I received the bill I couldn’t believe the price for a cup of coffee, I thought it was a mistake, it was just a regular cup of coffee… I called the waitress over and questioned the price of coffee, she said, yes that is the price… for seniors and everyone else…. I told her that I wasn’t at Starbucks… I don’t even go to Starbucks bc I can’t afford their regular coffee!!! This is just terrible!!!!
  16. Do you are you going to be accepting The Amac card ? Association of Mature American Citizens is a United States-based conservative advocacy organization and interest group, founded in 2007. Its president and founder is Daniel C. Weber, a retired insurance agency owner. AMAC is a membership organization for people age 50 and over.
  17. We bought 2 Denny’s mugs for $14.00 each. They stated at the Pendleton Oregon store that any Denny’s restaurant would honor free coffe if we brought the mugs in with us with purchase of meal. We put a red dot under our mugs for id. Had no problem until we presented them in Orem, UT. They stated that Denny’s had dropped the program. What’s with that Denny’s????
  18. There used to be three Denny’s within 15min of my home. Now the nearest is a 45 min ride of home, what happened? I used to enjoy going in for breakfast anytime day or night.
  19. Denny’s at a flyin j in sc wouldn’t take my AARP card off my phone they said they had to see the card. It was right there with the barcode and number. What’s up with that !???
    1. I had the same problem called AARP to place a complaint.Said they should have been able to process the sale. Will call restaurant. This happened recently to his year 2018
    1. Hi Carron – Are you talking about our website or Denny’s website? We can assist you with ours 🙂

  20. Tonight we visited the Burger King in Vandercook Lake, Jackson, Mich and was told they do not offer senior discounts on meals, only coffee. I told the girl Wendy’s do and she said they do not. Please change this.
