In our opinion, the best Frontier plan for seniors who want access to basic internet features and occasional streaming would be the Frontier Basic Internet plan, starting at $32.99 per month with autopay. Although speeds vary depending on location, it’s a good basic starter plan for seniors who want to send emails to loved ones, check online banking, and do some light online shopping or streaming.
With this plan, there’s no annual contract, and the monthly charge is about $50, which is a great incentive for those who are looking for affordable internet. However, the downside is that the monthly price will increase after 12 months.

You can purchase Frontier internet plans by calling them directly or purchasing their high-speed internet plans online. Simply add your home address to check if Frontier is available in your area. Once you purchase a plan, you can also check your account information and set up autopay and paperless billing. You can self-install the equipment or have it professionally installed.
If you decide not to self-install, a technician will arrive at your home to help. You’ll receive a reminder text before your appointment, and a call from a technician on the day they are set to arrive. Face masks must be worn and social distancing procedures are in place during the installation. During the installation, the technician might ask you to assist and plug in and activate equipment as a precaution for social distancing. In terms of installation fees, Frontier requires an equipment fee of $9.99 and an installation fee of $75.
All plans come with a modem and router with Wi-Fi features, but additional monthly fees may apply. Typically, standard installation costs $75, but can be waived with promotional offers. Additionally, the equipment rental fee for Frontier is $10 per month. You can choose to use your own router instead of Frontier’s router to connect to the internet, but you’ll still incur a $10 monthly fee for the router. If you do decide to use other routers, Frontier Internet is compatible with routers like the Arris NVG443B and Netgear D220D.
Frontier and Spectrum are two popular internet options for seniors. While they offer similar speeds with no contracts, they differ in terms of availability and equipment pricing. See below for more details.
