Monica Dyer is a veteran journalist and content manager for TheSeniorList.com. She holds a B.A. in print journalism, with a minor in English from Howard University. Monica has reviewed and edited more than 500 articles on senior care. She has also authored several articles for aging adults, including a guide to estate planning, custodial care, nursing homes and retirement communities. Monica also manages a team of writers and editors who research, review, and write about products and services for seniors, including the latest in medical alert devices, hearing aids, and other advances in senior care. She is dedicated to giving seniors and their families the essential resources and tools they need to make the most well-informed decisions impacting their lives.

As a part-time caregiver to her mom, Monica fully understands the enormous rewards but also the challenges that today’s caregivers face. To that end, she is committed to ensuring seniors stay abreast of the latest developments in the senior care community.

In addition to senior care-related topics, Monica’s editorial background spans the business, finance, and nonprofit worlds to arts and entertainment. Add to this her passion for learning, and it’s easy to see why she takes such pleasure in her job. She’s the cofounder/former editor of an entertainment website, where she developed, wrote and managed content. Monica has also served as a reading mentor in a teen literacy organization and created a writing workshop where she taught journalism, among other writing genres, to middle schoolers.

When she’s not seeking out new information about the ever-evolving senior care industry, Monica enjoys reading and writing short stories and checking out the latest episodes of The Gilded Age.
