Synergy HomeCare Review
Founded in 1999 by Peter Tourian, Synergy HomeCare now has over 365 locations in 40 states. The company’s mission is to bring holistic, energizing care to people in their own homes. The company provides vetted and professional care not only to older adults, but also to new mothers and people who need temporary care for injuries and surgical recovery.
Synergy HomeCare offers a variety of personal care services, including companionship, specialized care, fall prevention, and general health and wellness care. This all-encompassing care can be around-the-clock live-in care, daily care, or even hourly care. Synergy prides itself on offering a customized care program to meet its clients’ needs.
Synergy caregivers can provide the following services:
- Meal preparation
- Mobility assistance
- Toilet and bathing assistance
- 24-hour care
- Live-in care
- Medication reminders
This basic level of care includes assistance with bathing, dressing, errands, housekeeping, changing linens, laundry, meal preparation, and transportation. It also provides individuals with companionship, assistance in planning social gatherings, and a compassionate ear when needed. That’s important, since CDC studies show loneliness and social isolation can lead to a 50% increased risk of dementia.
This service is for people with an illness or disability that requires an increased level of care. It is nonmedical home care, but it includes extra help for people who suffer from memory issues or need end-of-life care. It also includes medication management and around-the-clock monitoring, so they know who to call if something happens.
Caregivers help with mobility so people may safely move around their home. These services include helping individuals get in and out of bed, navigate stairs, bathe, and use the toilet. Caregivers also keep things organized to ensure the environment is safe by removing tripping hazards, ensuring floors are safe, and installing home accessibility equipment if it’s needed. Synergy also offers a free in-home safety assessment to help evaluate your home.
Pro Tip: A medical alert system is also a great way to prevent falls. To learn about our favorites, check out our guide to fall detection devices.
